IQOS TEREA Mint Japan

TEREA Mint is the gentlest cooling stick in the Japanese range. Softer and rounder than full menthol, with the cold pulled back far enough that the tobacco underneath stays comfortable rather than getting buried.

Softer than you expect

The cooling here is closer to spearmint than peppermint: rounder, slightly sweeter, and without the sharp edge that makes strong menthols catch at the back of the throat. The finish is short and clean.

People who order this tend to be either coming off menthol cigarettes and finding TEREA Menthol too intense, or looking for something they can smoke fifteen times a day without the cooling becoming tiring. Both are good reasons.

Where it sits among the cooling sticks

Think of it as the entry point. TEREA Menthol is the same idea at full intensity. Black Menthol pairs strong cooling with a dark tobacco base and is a considerably bigger step.

If you want cooling plus fruit, Tropical Menthol is mango-forward and Purple Menthol leans berry. Both are sweeter than anything in the plain mint direction. Indonesia's straight menthol, Blue, is rounder again from the fuller tobacco base underneath.

What it works with

The ILUMA family and the Lambda i8, all induction-heated. No TEREA stick works in a blade device such as the IQOS 3 DUO.

Twenty per pack, about fourteen puffs each. Mild cooling shows storage damage less obviously than a strong menthol, but the same advice applies: keep packs out of direct heat.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick into the ILUMA holder, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first. There's no way to extend a single stick beyond that, so pacing the draw is what gets the full session out of it.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• The gentlest cooling in the Japanese range, a sensible first menthol
• Short, clean finish that doesn't linger
• Rounder than sharp peppermint, closer to spearmint

Cons:

• Too mild if you actually want strong cooling, Black Menthol is the real alternative
• Less character than a Pearl variant, since there's no capsule or fruit layer

Who buys Mint over the stronger menthols

Two groups mostly: people testing whether cooled TEREA suits them at all before committing to a carton of something stronger, and people who genuinely prefer a light, short finish over a long cold one. If you already know you want maximum cooling, start with Black Menthol instead and save yourself the detour.
