IQOS TEREA Menthol Japan

TEREA Menthol is the straight cooling stick from the Japanese range. Bold, fresh, no fruit, no capsule to crush. What you get is a properly cold draw over a tobacco base that stays present rather than disappearing under the menthol.

How cold, exactly

Firmly cooling but not numbing. The Japanese approach to menthol keeps things dry and clean rather than sweet, so this lands closer to peppermint than to a mint sweet. The tobacco underneath is still identifiable, which is not true of every menthol stick on the market.

The cooling is consistent from the first puff to the last, because there is no capsule involved. What you crush open on a Pearl variant, you get here from the start.

Menthol, Mint or a Pearl?

Three ways to get cooling from the Japanese range, and they are genuinely different products.

• TEREA Menthol is constant, bold cooling from the first draw.
• TEREA Mint is softer and rounder, with less bite.
• Shine Pearl puts the menthol in a crushable capsule, so you choose when it arrives.

Want cooling over something darker? Black Menthol runs the same intensity over a heavier tobacco base.

Who this suits

Anyone who wants menthol as the main event, not a supporting note, no fruit, no capsule to manage, just consistent cooling from the first puff to the last.

Devices

ILUMA and ILUMA i only, plus the Lambda i8. Induction heating is what makes TEREA work, so an IQOS 3 DUO or any blade holder is out.

Twenty sticks a pack. Menthol variants are worth keeping away from heat in storage more than plain tobacco is, because the cooling compound is what degrades first.

Storage and freshness

Keep packs out of direct heat and sunlight. A hot car in Dubai does more damage to flavour than months on a shelf indoors. A sealed pack holds its character for as long as it takes to work through a carton.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick into the ILUMA holder, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first. There's no way to extend a single stick beyond that, so pacing the draw is what gets the full session out of it.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Tobacco stays identifiable under the cooling, unlike many menthol sticks
• Consistent cold from first puff to last, no capsule needed

Cons:

• No way to dial cooling down mid-stick, Shine Pearl gives that control, this doesn't
• Japan-only, so no cheaper region for this exact stick
