IQOS TEREA Rich Regular Japan

Rich Regular is the heaviest plain tobacco in the Japanese TEREA line-up. Deep, roasted, full-bodied, and the stick most ex-smokers of full-strength cigarettes end up on after finding the standard variants too polite.

Why it reads as stronger

The blend is roasted further, which brings out a darker, almost cocoa-adjacent note underneath the tobacco. Nicotine sits at the same roughly 0.5 mg per stick as every other TEREA, so the strength you perceive comes from flavour intensity and body rather than a higher dose.

That distinction matters. If you want more nicotine, no TEREA delivers it. If you want a stick that tastes like it means business, this is the one.

Rich against the rest of the regulars

Against Regular the difference is obvious within two puffs: more roast, more body, longer finish. Against Warm Regular it is closer, but Warm leans nutty and softer where Rich stays dark and dry.

Ruby Regular is the other full-bodied option, and it takes a different route entirely, adding coffee and spice rather than more roast. Worth trying both before committing to a carton of either.

Who this suits

Recent switchers from full-strength cigarettes, or anyone who has found every lighter TEREA regular too thin to satisfy.

Compatibility and storage

ILUMA, ILUMA i and Lambda i8. Blade-heated devices including the IQOS 3 DUO cannot heat any TEREA stick. Twenty per pack, up to fourteen puffs each.

Darker blends show heat damage faster than lighter ones. Keep packs somewhere cool rather than in a glovebox through a Dubai summer, or the roast note flattens out.

Storage and freshness

Keep packs out of direct heat and sunlight. A hot car in Dubai does more damage to flavour than months on a shelf indoors. A sealed pack holds its character for as long as it takes to work through a carton.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick into the ILUMA holder, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first. There's no way to extend a single stick beyond that, so pacing the draw is what gets the full session out of it.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Satisfies switchers coming straight off full-strength cigarettes
• Longest, fullest finish of any Regular variant

Cons:

• Too strong for a first TEREA, start with Regular and move up if needed
• Same roughly 0.5 mg nicotine as every other TEREA despite tasting stronger, worth knowing before buying for strength
