IQOS TEREA Warm Regular

Warm Regular takes the standard Japanese tobacco base and adds a roasted, nutty note on top. Think toasted almond rather than anything sweet. It is one of the more distinctive plain sticks in the range and has a following among people who find the straight regulars a bit flat.

The nutty note, and where it comes from

The warmth sits in the mid-draw rather than the finish. You get ordinary tobacco on the inhale, then something rounder and slightly nutty develops through the middle of the stick, fading back out towards the end.

It is subtle. Nobody would mistake this for a flavoured stick, and if you are expecting an obvious taste you will be disappointed. What it does is give a plain tobacco stick somewhere to go over fourteen puffs.

Warm or Rich?

Both are fuller than Regular, and people cross-shop them constantly. Rich Regular gets its weight from a darker roast and stays dry throughout. Warm gets there through the nutty note and finishes softer.

If you want intensity, Rich. If you want interest without intensity, Warm. And if the nuttiness appeals but you want more going on, Ruby Regular layers coffee and spice into a similar space.

What it fits

Induction heating only: the ILUMA range, ILUMA i and the Lambda i8. TEREA of any origin will not work in an IQOS 3 DUO or another blade-heated holder.

Twenty sticks a pack. The nutty character is most noticeable when the holder is clean and fully charged, so if the note seems to have faded it is usually the device rather than the pack.

A couple of things people check

Is Warm Regular a flavoured stick?

Not in the way a Pearl or a menthol variant is. It is plain tobacco with a roasted, nutty character that develops mid-draw. There is no capsule and nothing added on top.

Does it taste sweet?

No. Nutty is not the same as sweet here. If you want sweetness in a plain-tobacco stick, the Indonesian range is a better place to look than the Japanese one.
