Tropical Menthol is the mango-forward stick in the Japanese TEREA range. Sweeter and fuller than the citrus variants, with cooling that supports the fruit instead of competing with it.

Mango, and what sits behind it

The mango is ripe rather than green, and it carries through the whole stick rather than fading after the first few puffs. There is a secondary tropical note underneath, closer to pineapple, that keeps the sweetness from going flat.

Cooling is moderate. This is not a stick you buy for the menthol; you buy it for the fruit and the menthol keeps it from becoming sickly.

Against the other fruit sticks

Yellow Menthol is the light, dry, citrus alternative and the better choice in real heat. Purple Menthol goes darker with berry. Tropical is the sweetest and fullest of the three.

Is Tropical Menthol very sweet?

It is the sweetest of the Japanese fruit menthols, though still drier than most of the Indonesian range. If sweetness is what you are after, Indonesia is the better hunting ground.

Does the mango flavour last the whole stick?

Yes. Unlike some fruit sticks where the flavour fades after a few puffs, the mango here carries through to the end.
