Fruit and capsule together

The passionfruit is present from the first puff, tart rather than sweet, sitting over a light tobacco base. Crushing the capsule adds cooling without washing the fruit out, which is the trick that makes this variant work where other fruit-plus-menthol capsules turn muddy.

Tartness is the distinguishing feature. If you have found other fruit sticks too sugary, this is the one that will not be.

Which Pearl to buy

Shine Pearl is straight menthol behind the capsule, no fruit at all. Sun Pearl takes a herbal direction. Oasis is the fruit-forward one, and the tartest of the three.

For fruit without a capsule, Tropical Menthol is sweeter and gives you the same cooling throughout instead of on demand. Oasis Pearl is also stocked from Indonesia and Italy, each noticeably sweeter than this Japanese version.

What it works in

The ILUMA family and the Lambda i8, all induction-heated. An IQOS 3 DUO will not heat it.

Twenty sticks a pack. Keep them somewhere the capsules will not be crushed in transit, and out of the heat, since both the capsule and the fruit note suffer in a hot car.

Storage and freshness

Keep packs out of direct heat and sunlight. A hot car in Dubai does more damage to flavour than months on a shelf indoors. A sealed pack holds its character for as long as it takes to work through a carton.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs. Crush the capsule whenever the second flavour should arrive. Early for cooling from the start, or partway through to get both halves of the stick out of one draw.
