How the capsule changes things

Before crushing, the stick is mild and slightly sweet with the cooling barely present. Squeeze the filter and you get a clean, bright menthol that holds to the end.

The useful trick is crushing halfway rather than at the start. That gives you seven puffs of one thing and seven of another from a single stick, which no non-capsule variant can do.

Shine Pearl or Oasis Pearl?

Both are Japanese Pearls with the same capsule mechanism. Oasis Pearl puts passionfruit behind the capsule, so crushing it gives you fruit plus cooling. Shine is the cleaner option: menthol and nothing else.

Sun Pearl is the third in the family and leans herbal. If you want capsules without fruit, Shine is the one.

Questions about the capsule

When should I crush the capsule?

Halfway through gets the most out of the stick: light tobacco for the first half, full menthol for the second. Crushing at the start is fine if you just want a menthol stick.

What happens if the capsule breaks by accident?

Nothing bad. The stick smokes as a menthol from the first puff instead of a plain one. It is only a problem if you wanted the tobacco half.
