IQOS TEREA Golden Edition Indonesian

Golden Edition puts ripe berries and a light menthol over the Indonesian tobacco base. It is one of the most reordered sticks on this page, largely because the cooling is gentle enough not to dominate the fruit.

Three things in balance

Berry arrives first, ripe rather than tart. The tobacco underneath is standard Indonesian, so fuller than a Japanese equivalent. The menthol is the last element and the quietest, doing just enough to keep the sweetness in check.

That restraint is unusual. Most berry-menthol sticks let the cooling take over by the halfway point; this one holds its balance to the end.

Golden or Purple Wave?

Purple Wave goes darker on the fruit and considerably harder on the menthol. Golden is the gentler, sweeter, more everyday version of a similar idea.

From Japan, Purple Menthol is drier and less sweet than either. Worth reading the region comparison before committing to a carton of any of them.

Who this suits

Best for someone who wants fruit and cooling but finds most menthol sticks too aggressive. If you actively want the menthol to lead, Purple Wave or a plain Silver-style stick will suit you better than Golden Edition.

Device compatibility

ILUMA holders only. A blade device such as the IQOS 3 DUO has no way to heat TEREA Golden Edition Indonesian, since the heating element lives inside the stick. This guide covers how to check yours.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick into the ILUMA holder, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first. Pacing the draw is what gets the full session out of it.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Unusually balanced, the menthol doesn't take over by the halfway point the way most berry-menthol sticks do
• Gentle enough for daily use, and one of the most reordered sticks in this range

Cons:

• Underdelivers if you actually want the menthol to lead, Purple Wave suits that better
