What the original ILUMA is, and what it isn't

ILUMA came before the i generation. It uses SMARTCORE induction, a coil that heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick, so there is no blade to scrape and no cleaning stick to buy. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first, and the pocket charger holds 2380 mAh and takes around 135 minutes to fill from empty. What it leaves out is the software: no FlexPuff, no Pause Mode, no touch controls. None of those change how the tobacco tastes, and plenty of people who own an i-series device use only one or two of them.

Standard kit colours and the limited editions

The plain Standard kit and its five colours (Azure Blue, Moss Green, Pebble Beige, Pebble Grey and Sunset Red) are the same device in different shells, and they sit at the lowest prices on this page. The limited editions, Stardrift, Bright, Neon, Oasis and WE, run identical internals behind a special finish and cost noticeably more. If you want the device and not the finish, buy a kit colour. If the finish is the point, the editions are fixed runs that IQOS does not restock.

Original ILUMA or the i Standard?

Both are a holder and a pocket charger, both take the same TEREA sticks, and both heat the same way. The i Standard adds the current generation's extras and costs more for them. Pick the original ILUMA if you know you won't use the extras, because the smoke in the stick is identical. Pick the i Standard if you want the newer generation. Using it day to day

Charge the pocket charger fully before the first use. After that, slot the holder into the charger between sessions so it is topped up for the next stick. Insert a TEREA stick, wait for the ready signal, then draw. Because nothing touches a blade, there is nothing to clean between flavours, and no residue carries over from the last stick.

Who should buy the original ILUMA

Three kinds of buyer get the most from it. The first already knows they want ILUMA and doesn't care about FlexPuff or Pause Mode, so paying for them would be waste. The second wants a spare or a second device, at home or in the car, where a cheaper unit that behaves the same is exactly right. The third collects finishes: the limited editions on this page are fixed runs, and a Stardrift or Neon that sold out last month is not coming back. If none of those describes you and you want the current generation, the i-series pages are the better starting point.

The device is the small part of what you spend

A device is a one-off purchase. The sticks are what you buy again and again, in packs of 20 and cartons of 200. That is why the region you buy sticks from matters more to your running cost than which device you own: Japanese TEREA costs nearly double the same flavour from Uzbekistan or Indonesia. Sticks worth trying first

For a plain, mild tobacco stick, start with Silver, the gentlest we stock, or Amber, which roasts a little darker. If you want cooling, Turquoise puts menthol over toasted tobacco. Be careful with Purple Wave: the name means menthol only from Uzbekistan and berry with menthol from the other four regions.

Your first session, step by step

1. Charge the pocket charger fully.
2. Slot the holder into the charger so it is topped up.
3. Insert one TEREA stick and wait for the ready signal.
4. Draw at an even pace. The session ends at about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first.
5. Put the holder back in the charger before the next stick.

Authenticity, payment and returns

Every device ships as new, sealed stock and is checked before it leaves us, never opened, repackaged or grey-market. Card, bank transfer and cash on delivery are all accepted, and nothing is charged until the order is confirmed. If a device arrives damaged or wrong, the returns and refunds policy covers it. Delivery takes 40 to 60 minutes across Dubai, Ajman and Sharjah, and the same day or within 24 hours elsewhere in the UAE.
