The IQOS ILUMA i Standard is the middle model of the ILUMA i range. It splits into a holder and a pocket charger, so you top up between sticks. It has the same touch screen, Pause Mode and FlexBattery as the i Prime. It takes TEREA sticks only. It costs from AED 255 here, delivered in Dubai in 40 to 60 minutes.

Which sticks fit the IQOS ILUMA i Standard
Every ILUMA heats by SMARTCORE induction: a coil heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick. HEETS have no metal element, so an ILUMA cannot heat them, and TEREA should not go into an older blade-heated IQOS. BLENDS are made for BONDS by IQOS and fit neither.

Why the two-piece format earns its price
The pocket charger refills the holder between sticks, so instead of watching one battery you keep topping up through the day. A holder top-up takes only a couple of minutes, since the pocket charger itself is the slow part, around 135 minutes from empty over USB-C. If you are out from morning to night and smoke through the day, that is the practical reason to choose it over the one-piece i One.

In the box and day to day
Holder, pocket charger and a USB-C cable. Charge the pocket charger fully before the first use, then slot the holder into it between sessions. A session runs six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first, and FlexPuff adds a few extra puffs if you draw slowly. Because induction leaves no residue on a blade, there is nothing to clean between flavours.
The five colours
Midnight Black is the default and the easiest to match with a case or accessory. Breeze Blue is the cooler, lighter finish. Digital Violet, Leaf Green and Vivid Terracotta are the brighter options. All five share the same specification, so colour is the only decision, and a brighter finish shows scuffs a little sooner than a dark one. Who the i Standard suits
It suits people who spend the day away from a socket. Because the pocket charger holds the reserve, a stick in the morning, a few through the day and one on the way home all draw on the same charged case, and the holder is back to full in a couple of minutes each time. It also suits anyone who wants a charger they can leave in a bag or a jacket. If you smoke mostly at home, the one-piece i One does the same job for less.
A day with a two-piece device
Charge the pocket charger overnight, since that is the slow part at around 135 minutes. In the morning the holder goes in and comes out ready. Between sticks the holder returns to the charger, so it is topped up before you need it again. The habit that trips new owners up is forgetting to put the holder back, which leaves the next stick waiting on a low battery.
What you spend after the device
The device is a one-off purchase and the sticks are recurring, in packs of 20 and cartons of 200. Choosing sticks by region changes your running cost more than choosing a device does: TEREA from Uzbekistan and Indonesia costs roughly half the same flavour from Japan. Your first session
Charge the pocket charger fully, slot the holder in, insert a TEREA stick and wait for the ready signal. Draw at an even pace. FlexPuff adds a few extra puffs if you draw slowly, and the session ends at about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first.
Sticks to start with
Silver is the mildest plain tobacco stick we stock and Amber is a little darker and more roasted. Turquoise adds menthol to toasted tobacco. Yellow is the one to try if you want citrus, and the Swiss version is straight lemon while the others are tobacco with a citrus twist.
Touch screen, Pause Mode and FlexBattery
The i Standard has the full ILUMA i feature set, the same as the i Prime. The touch screen on the holder shows the preheating status, the time left in the stick and how many sticks the holder has left. Pause Mode holds a part-smoked stick for up to eight minutes, within the first three minutes or eight puffs. To pause, swipe down across the screen; two vertical lines show when Pause Mode is available, and a vibration confirms it. To resume, swipe up, and the holder reheats for about 20 seconds. A paused stick is limited to 14 puffs in total, before and after the pause.
FlexBattery switches between Performance Mode, the default, with up to three sticks in a row, and Eco Mode, with one stick per holder charge and a gentler load on the battery over its life. These are the features people often assume only the i Prime has.
Authenticity, payment and returns
Every device ships as new, sealed stock and is checked before it leaves us, never opened, repackaged or grey-market. Card, bank transfer and cash on delivery are all accepted, and nothing is charged until the order is confirmed. If a device arrives damaged or wrong, the returns and refunds policy covers it. - What is the difference between the i Standard and the i One?
- The i Standard splits into a holder and a pocket charger, so you top up through the day. The i One is one piece with the battery inside, cheaper and simpler but you plug it in instead.
- Does the i Standard take HEETS?
- No. TEREA sticks only. It heats by induction with no blade.
- How long does the pocket charger take to charge?
- Around 135 minutes from empty over USB-C. Topping up the holder from it takes only a couple of minutes.
- Do the colours differ in performance?
- No. All five colours share the same specification and battery. Colour is the only difference.
- Should I buy the i Standard or the i Prime?
