IQOS ILUMA is a heated tobacco device that heats by induction, with no blade, and takes TEREA sticks only. The range is the original ILUMA, the ILUMA i One, i Standard and i Prime, the Prime kit and limited-edition finishes. All of them use the same six-minute session.

What is IQOS ILUMA?
IQOS ILUMA is a heated tobacco device that heats by induction. A coil in the holder warms a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick, so the tobacco heats to around 350 °C without burning. It is called SMARTCORE induction, and the practical result is that ILUMA has no blade at all. There is nothing to scrape, no cleaning stick to buy and no part to snap.
A session lasts about six minutes or 14 puffs, whichever comes first. ILUMA takes TEREA sticks only. Blade-heated IQOS models use HEETS, and the two are not interchangeable.

What is the difference between ILUMA and ILUMA i?
The heating is the same, so the tobacco tastes the same on either. The i generation adds software. FlexPuff gives up to four extra puffs if you draw slowly. On the i Standard and i Prime you also get the touch screen, Pause Mode and FlexBattery, which lets you choose between Eco and Performance. The i One adds AutoStart, so it begins heating the moment a stick goes in.
If none of those matter to you, the original ILUMA does the same job. Buy the i-series for what it adds, not for a change in taste, because there isn't one.
How do you use IQOS ILUMA?
- Charge the device fully the first time.
- Push a TEREA stick into the holder, filter end out, until it is seated.
- Wait for the holder to signal that it is ready. The i One starts by itself when the stick goes in.
- Draw at an even pace until the session ends, at about six minutes or 14 puffs.
- Remove the used stick and throw it away. On two-piece models, return the holder to the pocket charger so it is ready for the next one.
How do you charge IQOS ILUMA?
The one-piece i One charges over USB-C in around 90 minutes and gives about 20 consecutive uses. The two-piece models charge the pocket charger, which then refills the holder between sticks. The original ILUMA pocket charger holds 2380 mAh and takes around 135 minutes to fill from empty. The i Prime charges over USB-C in about two hours and 15 minutes and gives up to 20 uses per full charge, up to three sticks in a row.
The habit that trips new owners up is forgetting to return the holder to the pocket charger. The next stick then waits on a low battery.
How do you clean IQOS ILUMA?
There is very little to do. With no blade, nothing inside the holder needs scraping. Wipe the outside of the holder and the charger with a dry cloth and keep them out of direct heat. The aluminium body of the Prime resists everyday scuffs but can still mark, so a case helps.
Which sticks does IQOS ILUMA take?
TEREA only. Sticks come in packs of 20 and cartons of 200, in seven source markets. For a first order, Silver and Amber are the plain tobacco options, Turquoise adds menthol, and Oasis Pearl is passionfruit with a menthol capsule. How much does an IQOS ILUMA cost in Dubai?
The i One is the lowest-priced ILUMA i and the i Prime is the highest, with the i Standard and the original ILUMA between them. Limited editions cost more than the standard colours on the same body, because you are paying for the finish. We don't print prices in this guide because they change, and each product page shows the current price. The device is a one-off cost, and the sticks are the recurring one. The i One listings state a one-year warranty.
