IQOS TEREA Apricity Indonesian

Apricity is the most distinctly Indonesian stick we stock: clove warmth with a fruit aroma over it. Nothing in the Japanese or European ranges tastes like this, and it is the variant that best explains why people seek out Indonesian TEREA specifically.

Clove, in a heated tobacco stick

Indonesian tobacco culture is built around kretek, and while TEREA is nothing like a clove cigarette, Apricity leans towards that heritage more than any other variant here. The clove is a warmth at the back rather than a spice hit, and the fruit aroma sits over it.

It is polarising. People who grew up around kretek recognise it immediately. People expecting a conventional fruit stick often find it strange on the first pack and then come back to it.

Nothing else is quite like it

The nearest comparison within Indonesia is Bronze, which shares the warmth but replaces clove with cocoa. Nothing in the Japanese range goes anywhere near this territory; Japanese blends are deliberately dry and restrained.

If Apricity appeals, the rest of the Indonesian range is worth working through. If it does not, it says little about the other variants here.

Who this suits

Best for people already familiar with kretek-style tobacco, or anyone curious what makes Indonesian TEREA distinct from Japan or Europe. Not the place to start if you've never tried Indonesian TEREA before. Bronze or Golden Edition are gentler introductions.

Device compatibility

There is a metal strip sealed inside every TEREA Apricity Indonesian stick, and only an ILUMA's induction coil reaches it. Blade holders cannot. The Lambda i8 works; the blade-based Lambda CC does not.

Storage and freshness

Keep packs out of direct heat and sunlight, same as any TEREA stick. The flavour holds fine at room temperature but degrades faster in a hot car or on a windowsill. A sealed pack easily outlasts the time it takes to work through it.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick into the ILUMA holder, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first. Pacing the draw is what gets the full session out of it.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Genuinely unlike anything else we stock, a real point of difference, not a marketing claim
• The clearest expression of Indonesian tobacco heritage in the whole catalogue

Cons:

• Polarising by design, not a good first Indonesian TEREA
• Can taste strange on the first pack before it clicks, by the description's own admission
