Berrin Pearl puts berry behind a crushable menthol capsule, so one stick behaves as two. Left alone it is a fairly straight berry stick; crushed, cooling comes through hard behind the fruit.

Two sticks in one

Uncrushed, this is close to Berrine: sweet berry over the fuller Indonesian base. Crush the capsule and menthol floods forward without washing the fruit out.

Crushing halfway rather than at the start is the useful trick. Seven puffs of berry, seven of berry and cold, from a single stick.

Which Indonesian Pearl to buy

Three carry capsules here. Perint Pearl is mint over light tobacco with no fruit. Riviera Pearl goes tropical and is the sweetest. Berrin is the berry one and sits in between.

Fits the whole ILUMA family and the Lambda i8. Older blade-based IQOS models cannot heat BERRIN Pearl Edition at all, because the heating element is sealed inside the stick rather than pushed into it. More on that here.

Questions about this variant

When should I crush the capsule?

Halfway through gets the most from the stick: berry for the first half, berry and menthol for the second. Crushing at the start is fine if you want cooling throughout.

What if the capsule breaks in my pocket?

The stick still smokes, it just starts cold. Capsules travel better in a case than loose in a bag.
