IQOS TEREA Twilight Pearl Menthol Italy

Twilight Pearl pairs dark forest fruit with a menthol capsule, the richest of the Italian Pearls. Uncrushed it is berry-led and warm; crushed the menthol takes over. 215 AED.

Dark fruit, then cold

Blackberry and blackcurrant rather than anything bright, over a base warmer than the other Italian Pearls carry. The capsule cuts through it cleanly.

Better suited to evenings than to smoking through a working day.

Twilight elsewhere

The Uzbek Twilight Pearl is the same idea at 125 AED, and is the cheapest capsule stick we stock. If you like this profile, that is where the value sits.

Within Italy, Oasis is tarter and Sun lighter.

Device compatibility

ILUMA, ILUMA i and the Lambda i8. Not the IQOS 3 DUO, and not any other blade holder, since the element that heats TEREA sits inside the stick.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs. Crush the capsule whenever the second flavour should arrive. Early for cooling from the start, or partway through to get both halves of the stick out of one draw.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• The richest, warmest of the three Italian Pearls, genuine depth for an evening stick
• Dark berry that holds through the base rather than getting lost under the capsule
• Better suited to a real evening ritual than an all-day carton, if that's what appeals about a Pearl

Cons:

• The Uzbek version is close enough that most people wouldn't separate them blind, at 125 AED against 215
• The priciest of the Twilight Pearl regions we stock, by a wide margin

Storage and freshness

Keep packs out of direct heat and sunlight, same as any TEREA stick. The flavour holds fine at room temperature but degrades faster in a hot car or on a windowsill. A sealed pack easily outlasts the time it takes to work through it.
