IQOS TEREA Tidal Pearl Uzbekistan

Tidal Pearl sits at the lighter end of the Uzbek cooled sticks: a gentler menthol over a light tobacco base.

The gentler cooling option

Softer than a full menthol and easier to smoke repeatedly through a day. If Purple Wave has felt like too much cold, this is the step down without giving up cooling entirely.

The tobacco base is light throughout, so nothing competes with the menthol for attention.

Tidal Pearl against Purple Wave and Turquoise

Purple Wave here is the full menthol. Turquoise adds toasted tobacco underneath. Tidal Pearl is the lightest of the three on cooling.

Japan's TEREA Mint occupies similar ground at a considerably higher price, and shares the same "gentlest cooling" role in its own range.

Who this suits

Anyone who wants cooling but finds a full menthol too much, and would rather smoke it all day than switch to something stronger.

Device compatibility

Induction devices only: ILUMA, ILUMA i and the Lambda i8. Every blade-heated IQOS is out, as this guide explains.

Using it, start to finish

Insert one stick into the ILUMA holder, wait for the ready signal, then draw. A session runs about six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever comes first. Pacing the draw is what gets the full session out of it.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• The gentlest cooling option in this specific range, a sensible first menthol
• Easy to smoke all day without the cooling becoming tiring
• The light tobacco base stays out of the way, so nothing competes with the menthol for attention

Cons:

• Too light if strong cooling is the actual goal, Purple Wave or Turquoise here fit that better
• Japan's TEREA Mint covers similar ground at a considerably higher price if origin matters more than value

Storage and freshness

Keep packs out of direct heat and sunlight, same as any TEREA stick. The flavour holds fine at room temperature but degrades faster in a hot car or on a windowsill. A sealed pack easily outlasts the time it takes to work through it.
