Al Fakher Watermelon Shisha Flavour

Watermelon, light and clean, and one of the better choices for a hot evening outdoors. Less sugary than the berry flavours and easier to stay on for a long session.

What it is

Shisha molasses on Virginia blonde leaf at 0.05% nicotine, made in the UAE. Meant for a proper hookah setup with charcoal and a bowl, not for any electronic device.

Where it sits in the range

Among the flavours we carry, this is the summer flavour in the range. The full Al Fakher range runs to ten flavours, and mixing two in one bowl is common practice rather than unusual.

Packing a bowl

Break the molasses up loosely rather than packing it tight. Airflow through the bowl is what lets the flavour develop instead of scorching. Spreading the charcoal's heat evenly across the top, rather than concentrating it in one spot, is usually what separates a bowl that lasts from one that turns burnt early.

Mixing it into a bowl

Watermelon's light character makes it an easy flavour to mix rather than fight with, a small amount of Mint on top keeps it refreshing without stacking sweetness on top of sweetness.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Lighter and less sugary than the berry flavours, easier to stay on through a long session
• The clear pick for a hot evening outdoors, by its own description
• Mixes cleanly with mint without turning cloying, unlike some of the sweeter fruit flavours

Cons:

• Less distinctive than Two Apples or Gum if you want a flavour with a stronger identity
• Lighter overall, so it won't satisfy if you want a fuller, heavier bowl
